Lord Bless the Troops! One of the pleasant surprises we have discovered coming to Bahrain is how the Lord would use Sue & I to bless the troops of the US Navy & Marines. Bahrain is home port of the Navy’s 5th Fleet and several of the officers, their families, and enlisted personnel have made Saar Fellowship their church home. What an honor it is to pray and serve with these dedicated friends. I’m pictured below with my friend (and fellow Philadelphia Eagles fan) Lt. Chris. I was privileged to pray at his change of duty celebration in February. Over 8,000 troops are stationed here and those numbers swell when ships pull in to port. Please pray for these brave men & women. |
Medical Missions Trip to Amman, JordanDreams Alive is sponsoring our very first Medical Missions Trip to serve Syrian & Iraqi refugees living in Jordan. The team will serve between April 1st and 9th at our new clinic. This will actually be the first time I’ve seen the clinic, which we completed in October 2015. If all goes well we will sponsor more trips. If your church or Home Bible Study would like to send a ministry team, please let us know. And please bath this trip in prayer! Thank you! | The BIG DAY OUT!!!The church we serve in Bahrain is called Saar Fellowship, Saar being the town where we meet. About 200 expats gather on Friday mornings in a grammar school to praise the Lord. Since our arrival 4 years ago, Sue & I have met & worshiped with folks from 47 nations around the world! Every now & then the school has special activities scheduled and we are asked to find another meeting place. That can be a real challenge! When it happened in February someone had the idea to meet in the desert at a campground. I felt like Moses worshiping outside of the Tabernacle, although his tent certainly must have looked a wee bit better than ours. Sue & I really love this church and we’re so grateful to serve with such a fine body of believers. Please keep us in your prayers! |
Book Fair on the Horizon
Our Work in Iraq If you’ve been receiving our newsletters for a while you’ll know that we began ministering in Iraq in 2014. So far, with the help of our Dreams Alive supporters, we’ve provided scriptures, food, clothing, & medicines to Yazidi & Christians fleeing the hate and death of the Islamic State army. In December we put a roof on a school for Christian children living in an isolated area of northeast Iraq. We have 3 partner organizations there that we support in prayer and finances. Since December our colleagues have been in the USA raising funds & taking a much-needed break with family. As the war dies down, we’re hoping to help rebuild Syria & Iraq & we’re preparing to visit them in May. As the time draws closer we will send more information. | Bahraini’s and to the thousands of Saudi’s that visit Bahrain every week. All that will change in March when Bahrain holds an International Book Fair. It only happens once every two years, a short but exciting window of opportunity. Since I first heard about the book fair 3 years ago I have been encouraging and praying with my friend Daniel, the Bible Society manager, to apply for a booth at the fair. This year he is ready and willing. Dreams Alive will provide finances and personnel for the event. Literally tens of thousands of people from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will attend this fair giving us an unprecedented opportunity to get the Gospel in the hands of people that have little or no access to the Bible! Pray that many people will buy Bible’s and helpful Christian books and may the Word of God find a place in their heart! but it shall accomplish that which I purpose. One of the blessings in Bahrain is the presence & ministry of the Bible Society in the Gulf. They offer Bibles and other Christian books in over 40 languages. Unfortunately, the shop is tucked in the compound of the American Mission Hospital and National Evangelical Church, not a great location for getting the Bible to |
Thank you so much for your friendship and for caring about the people of the Middle East. There are times when nothing less than the prayers of the saints keep us going! If the Lord is calling you to help fund the work, we thank you! There is no shortage of financial need in this region where the Gospel is suppressed and the Islamists are destroying churches and nations in their thirst for power. All financial gifts go directly to support the work in the region with a special emphasis on evangelism, helping persecuted Christians, and the refugees from the Syrian Civil War. All of our relief work is done in ‘Word & Deed.’ Donations are tax-deductible & may be sent to Dreams Alive, PO Box 78, West Creek, NJ, USA, 08092. We also have a PayPal account on our webpage: www.thearabamericanalliance.com
